The
DCN 1000L blackbody is an infrared reference source especially designed for emitting
area temperatures well below ambient. It can be used as a stand alone device (absolute
mode) or associated to a target placed in front of the emitting area (differential
mode whereby a temperature difference is set between the emitting area and the
target).
For a +20°C ambient temperature, the emitting area
temperature can be set at -80°C. The risk of water condensation or frost on
the emitting area is eliminated by blowing dry air or nitrogen or by operating
the blackbody in a sealed dry air enclosure.
This
infrared source is mainly used in laboratories.
